Court Security

Ben Charles – Sergeant, Staff Services

Court Security is responsible for transporting prisoners from jails to court, opening and closing the courts in the mornings and afternoons, providing security for the courtrooms, serving “walk-in” warrants and conveying paperwork from court to other city departments and officers. These are just a few of their many duties.

Court security officers complete court officer training, as well as corrections training, firearms training, and drivers training. Just as patrol officers, they are expected to continuously train in Force Options/Defense Tactics.

Our court officers exemplify professionalism and provide the best services to our court personnel and the citizens.

As in other sections of the Kettering Police Department, we pride ourselves in having the finest court officers
