Code Red Emergency Incident & Community Alerts

Did you know the City of Kettering uses Code Red to notify residents about emergency incidents and critical community alerts? Examples include: construction updates, service notifications, public safety alerts, boil water notices and missing person reports.

Please take a moment to click here to add your information to the emergency call database. You can also text the word KETTERINGOH to 24639 to join.  The secure, customized Community Notification Enrollment (CNE) page allows residents and businesses to add or update their contact information to ensure they will be included when a message is sent – unlisted numbers, mobile numbers, TDD/TTY requirements can all be entered.

Severe Weather Notification

The CodeRED emergency alert system now includes severe weather notifications from the National Weather Service.

How CodeRED Works

CodeRED is a fast communication tool for emergency notification. During an emergency, the City determines which neighborhoods or areas are affected and records a message describing the emergency and providing directions to the public. Once the message is confirmed, the high-speed dialer delivers it at 50,000 calls per hour to a live person or an answering machine, making three attempts to connect to any number.

You can manage your account by clicking here to opt out of receiving all future official City of Kettering public safety and city service-related emergency notifications.  Please note that removal may take 7-10 business days to take effect.
