The City of Kettering partners with Wright State University every two years to conduct a Kettering Resident Satisfaction Survey.  Emails with a link to the online survey went out yesterday from Carol Murray, our partner at Wright State, to a randomly selected group of Kettering residents.  If you received an email it is a valid survey and we appreciate you taking the time to provide your feedback.
If you are interested in a job not on our Employment Opportunities webpage, please do not complete an employment application. Instead, please subscribe to receive email notifications as new positions are added to our website.
No. The City only accepts applications for open positions; that is, any position which has been announced and for which we are actively recruiting.
The Employment Opportunities webpage will note the status of open recruitments until the position is filled.
A recruitment announcement is posted for each position. The recruitment announcement is an excellent source of information that lists the salary, duties of the position, the requirements necessary to qualify for consideration, whether or not a civil service exam is required and the date by which applications must be submitted.
A position’s education and experience requirements are stated on the recruitment announcement. Read the requirements carefully. The position may require certain education and/or experience, a license and/or certification, and knowledge and/or ability in specific areas. When in doubt, it is best to submit your application and the Human Resource Department Staff will determine whether or not you meet the requirements.
Generally, the Human Resource Manager assigned to the recruitment reviews applications to evaluate a candidate’s education and experience and determine if a candidate is qualified for the position. It is very important that you read the application materials thoroughly and complete all necessary requirements.
Your qualifications will be evaluated based upon the information provide on the resume or application and supplements. Be certain to include paid and voluntary work experience. Also include other information that is relevant to the job, such as licenses, professional affiliations, certifications, relevant training and all other special qualifications. A resume may be submitted along with your completed application.
The City of Kettering often receives a large number of applications for posted positions. Please be patient as the application review process may take several weeks.
