WORKSHOP MINUTES

July 22, 2025

The Council of the City of Kettering, Ohio, met in a workshop session on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, in the Deeds Conference Room, Kettering Government Center 3600 Shroyer Road. The meeting came to order at 6:30 p.m.

Council members present included Mayor Lehner, Mr. Sullivan, Mrs. Hall, Mr. Scott, and Mr. Suddith.

Council members absent: Two (Fisher, Duvall)

Staff members present included City Manager Matt Greeson, Assistant City Manager Steve Bergstresser, Assistant City Manager Bryan Chodkowski, Law Director Ted Hamer, Assistant Law Director Maggie Pasqualone, Sustainability Manager Dawn Kirchner, Communications and Engagement Manager Amanda Harold, Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts Director Bill Tschirhart, Planning and Development Director Tom Robillard and Clerk of Council Amy Hayslip.

Mr. Sterling Abernathy and Ms. Celeste Mitchell were also in attendance.

Meeting called to order at 6:30 p.m.

Strategic Plan Goal 5 Update (Sustainability)

Ms. Kirchner gave an update on the development of a Sustainability Plan encompassing Sustainability goals included in the Strategic Plan.

Comprehensive Plan Update

Mr. Robillard gave an update on the timeline on the Comprehensive Plan. A second public open house has been scheduled for September 11, 2025. A draft of the Comprehensive Plan is expected to be ready before the end of the year.

Agenda Review

Mr. Greeson went over the Agenda and asked if there were any questions.

At 7:10 p.m., Mr. Suddith made a motion to enter Executive Session under Section 121.06 (k) of the Codified Ordinances for the purpose of: Property Matters, seconded by Mr. Sullivan. The motion passed unanimously upon roll call.

At 7:30 p.m., the Council exited Executive Session and went back on public record.

The City Council Workshop Meeting adjourned at 7:30 p.m.
