Schantz Avenue Bridge Replacement

Status Update:

November 27, 2019: The Schantz Avenue bridge opened to traffic this afternoon. Construction will continue for a short time after the bridge is open, and the remaining work will be completed this Spring.

Project Schedule: The project is on schedule to open to traffic in November 2019. The artwork component will be installed by Spring 2020.
Project Description:
This project  is the replacement of the Schantz Avenue bridge over northbound South Dixie Drive.  Additionally, the retaining wall along South Dixie Drive will be repaired and sealed.

Project Location:
The intersection of South Dixie Drive and Schantz Avenue.
Traffic Impacts:
Two-way traffic on South Dixie Drive will be maintained, though, reduced from two lanes to one lane in each direction. Northbound traffic will not able to turn left at Mayo Avenue, Carrollton Avenue, Prosser Avenue, nor Calvary Drive.
Schantz Avenue will be closed at the bridge. Access to South Dixie Highway will be detoured using South Patterson Boulevard, Crauder Avenue, and Sacramento Avenue.

Drivers are encourage to use alternative routes during peak traffic hours to avoid possible delays.
