Program Benefits

In addition to the many personal health and lifestyle benefits found in the Employee Wellness Program, there are many financial benefits as well!

EarnBack/Cash Incentive

Employees who choose to participate in the Incentive Program must earn and track Activity and Non-Activity Points. Between November 1 and October 31, participants must earn 420 Activity and 80 Non-Activity Points through exercise and program components such as screenings, lectures, etc. Depending on medical enrollment or waiver, employees who meet the requirements will earn a financial incentive in the February following the Wellness Year end.

Note: Incentive amount and method will be based on employee status and medical enrollment/waiver at time of deposit (February).

Platinum Plan – $350 (Single) or $700 (Family) HSA or HRA Deposit
Silver Plan – $350 (Single) or $700 (Family) Taxable Income
Bronze Plan – $350 (Single) or $700 (Family) Taxable Income
Waiver/Part-Time Firefighter – $250 Taxable Income

Please note, new employees hired after May 1 must obtain a pro-rated amount of 210 Activity and 40 Non-Activity Points in order to qualify for a pro-rated EarnBack or Cash Incentive for the current year of participation. The pro-rated EarnBack will be equal to $175 for Single Coverage or $350 for Family Coverage; or $125 for Waivers and Part-Time Firefighters. These pro-rated amounts will be paid as indicated previously.

Wellness Employee of the Month

The Wellness Committee receives nominations as well as nominates employees for Wellness Employee of the Month who:

  • Demonstrate active participation and leadership/encouragement in the program.
  • Experience significant personal success (examples include achieving weight loss goals, quitting smoking or improved physical condition).

As a token of recognition, winners will be given a cash award of $50.

Lecture Drawings

Employees attending/viewing lectures will be entered into a $50 drawing for each lecture conducted. Employees wanting to be entered for the chance-to-win drawing and/or participation points must watch the lecture within 8 weeks of the actual lecture date.

Wellness Challenges

Challenges are typically conducted quarterly and include an opportunity towards a prize/incentive upon successful completion. The prize/incentive varies and is communicated in the challenge announcement/registration. Examples of past incentives include cash drawings ($25-$100), FitBits, iPad mini’s, etc.
