One of Kettering’s favorite initiatives is National Make A Difference Day, and it’s Saturday, October 23, from 9:00 to noon! Everyone is welcome (children under 14 must be accompanied by adults). Volunteers will spend the morning clearing invasive honeysuckle from trails or planting seeds and seedlings at the Habitat Center, 3036 Bellflower St. If staying indoors is more your style, stop by Christ United Methodist Church, 3440 Shroyer Rd., and get creative while making holiday cards for our deployed service men and women distributed through Blue Star Mothers, or decorative placements donated to area nursing and senior facilities. Give as little or as much time as you have – it’s all appreciated!
