Montgomery County to Conduct Revaluation Field Checks

Posted on June 4, 2019

The Montgomery County Auditor’s Office will conduct the next phase of the mandated 2020 Revaluation for Montgomery County this week through July. Locally based Lexur Appraisal Services will complete this work. Beginning this week, they will begin to do field checks in Kettering to verify changes in property characteristics. This will require Lexur’s appraisers to physically view, and in some cases, measure features of properties. The appraisers will not do a field check on every property. They will only visit a small number of properties to verify recent property changes, and should be finished with this work by mid-July.

Additional information about the revaluation project:

  • All personnel assigned to the project will be wearing county-issued photo identification.
  • The names of the appraisers involved in this project, as well as the makes/models and license plate numbers for their vehicles, are available on the www.mcreval.org website.
  • Project personnel are deputized to access driveways or private lanes and take measurements of properties.
  • Work may be performed on both weekdays and weekends.

General information about the Revaluation project and specific vehicle details for those conducting revaluation assessments can be found at www.mcreval.org.

Correct and up-to-date property information is crucial to ensure fair and equitable property values. In an effort to maintain accurate data on every parcel in the county, Ohio law requires counties to conduct a Revaluation every six years to update property information.
