SENIOR ADULT PROGRAM COORDINATOR

The City of Kettering, Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Arts Department is recruiting to fill the Regular Part-Time position of “Senior Adult Program Coordinator” at the Charles I. Lathrem Senior Center. The current position is for 20 hours per week, with a flexible work schedule. The Senior Adult Program Coordinator plans, implements and oversees assigned programs, events and trips in the adult, senior and intergenerational program areas. The position is responsible for completing program objectives, reports and evaluations; researching and recommending new program ideas and completing monthly and annual reports and all correspondence in a timely fashion. This position works cooperatively with the Program Supervisor to coordinate program and seasonal event planning and implementation.
The ideal candidate will have a degree in parks and recreation or a related field or comparable experience working with non-profit or community programs. Innovative programming skills related to the areas noted above, excellent oral and written communication skills, and experience in using computers effectively in business applications required. Must have excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to work and communicate effectively with staff, City employees and the general public and have a genuine interest in working with older adults.
Pay range is $12.44 – $21.51 per hour. Entry rate is contingent upon candidate’s related skills, knowledge, and abilities. Benefits include prorated sick leave, vacation leave and holiday pay.
