RECRUITMENT ANNOUNCEMENT

 Print Shop Clerk-Regular Part-Time

THE POSITION:

The City of Kettering, Ohio, is seeking to fill a Regular Part-Time Print Shop Clerk position for the City’s Administrative Systems Division.

This position is responsible for using a digital copy system; ordering and dispersing of office supplies; as well as recording print, copy and supply usage for Departmental chargebacks. This position operates and maintains a variety of printing equipment including multifunction copiers, color printers, folder, paper cutter, binder, office copier, collator, laminator and padding press; uses desktop computers for e-mail, electronic work order tracking, and printer/copier management; uses Microsoft Office to prepare reports, cost estimates, and invoices; and receives and stores office supplies in a central supply room and distributes those supplies to offices according to requests. This position drives a City of Kettering vehicle to transport mail to the Post Office; receives and sends UPS packages and receives other general deliveries. This position also maintains equipment located in the Print Shop, loads paper, runs test copies and places calls for maintenance and repair with the vendor; and performs a variety of routine maintenance tasks in problem solving and cleaning of printing equipment. This position may also be required to transport supplies (up to 60 lbs.) from receiving area or supply room. In addition, this position maintains good working relationships with other City employees and performs other duties as assigned. This position is supervised by the Administrative Systems Director.

Qualifications

Candidates should have a good knowledge of printing methods and procedures using finishing equipment; attention to detail; ability to make mathematical calculations; ability to understand and follow written or oral instructions; ability to work effectively with employees and the general public; dexterity; good physical condition; ability to operate a City of Kettering vehicle in a safe and law-abiding manner; and the ability to use of computer skills in a business environment. Candidates must possess a valid Ohio driver’s license and maintain a good driving record. Ideal candidates will have printing and digital color reproduction experience. Candidates will need to have completed a standard high school course or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

Part-time approximately 16-hour per week position; Pay range is $12.20/hr. to $18.97/hr. with entry dependent upon experience and training.
