The City of Kettering’s Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts (PRCA) Department is recruiting to fill the Regular Part-Time position of PRCA Business Technician I. Under the supervision of the Superintendent (Administrative/Business Services), the Regular Part-Time Technician assists the Superintendent in the business administration, project management, training development and analysis of business functions of the PRCA Department. This position assists in the oversight of business functions, organization performance and analysis, and project implementation and training within the PRCA Department. This position is budgeted for up to 28 hours of work per week.
The PRCA Technician is an administrative position responsible for assisting the Superintendent (Administrative/Business Services) in the areas of fiscal management and revenue collection; the PRCA Department revenue interface process with the City Finance Department; and with the administration of the PRCA Department refund processing and Financial Assistance Program. The PRCA Technician will participate in budget preparation and administration and provide analytical, technical and administrative assistance to support the PRCA Department; conduct analytical studies of significant administrative or operational issues and programs and prepare recommendations and/or practical solutions and evaluate proposed changes in policy or procedure. The position assists the Superintendent (Administrative/Business Services) implement PRCA Department-wide or division-specific projects often dealing with technology, or policy and procedure management. The position also exercises initiative and professional judgment in the performance of duties.
A baccalaureate degree in business administration or a related field from an accredited college or university preferred or any combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Two years of progressive supervisory responsibility and budget and/or accounting background desired. Excellent oral and written communication skills, with emphasis on technology preferred. Ability to work in a multi-discipline setting a plus.
Regular Part-Time position with prorated leave benefits; pay range is $19.51 to $25.44 per hour with entry rate contingent on candidate’s experience, related skills, knowledge and ability.
