The City of Kettering’s Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts department is recruiting internally from among current City of Kettering employees only to fill the Regular Part-time position of “Rosewood Facility Coordinator.”  This position is under the supervision of the Division Manager of Cultural Arts and the Office Coordinator. The Facility Coordinator will oversee the maintenance and operations of the general Rosewood facility, including professional administrative work, facility management, facility scheduling, customer service, financial records and transactions, and overall safety of all patrons, staff and instructors. The Facility Coordinator is responsible for the management of the Rosewood Arts Centre and determining the needs of all programs within the facility.  This role assures that facilities and programs are adequately planned for the maximum safety and benefit to the community at large. The Facility Coordinator exercises initiative and professional judgment in the performance of duties.


Candidates must possess strong written, oral communications and interpersonal skills to work with high level public and private sector officials. The ability to handle multiple, concurrent and high priority tasks is required. Ability to cooperate and work effectively with fellow employees, community organizations and the public. Ability to maintain records, make reports and present ideas and recommendations clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. Strong PC skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access), Adobe Photoshop and other visual editing programs and/or other relevant software is required. Ability to research and troubleshoot basic office equipment issues. Must possess strong organizational skills and have the ability to handle multiple projects self-sufficiently. Must be able to adapt to a varied work schedule to assure successful operation of the Rosewood division.  Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with Rosewood Program and Facility staff, studio artists, Parks and Recreation Division personnel, volunteers and community organizations.

An arts-related bachelors’ degree and experience working with facility management, community arts, and cultural programs is preferred or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to oversee an arts or public use facility with various technical components.  Supervisory experience required, plus the ability to work effectively with all employees, City officials and the public.


Regular Part-Time position with prorated leave benefits; 28 hours/week; pay range starting at $17.12/hour.
