The City of Kettering is recruiting internally from among current City of Kettering employees only to fill a Regular Full-Time Buildings Attendant position in the City’s Public Service Department, Facilities Division. Employees in these positions may be called upon to work additional overtime hours as needed.
Work schedule days and hours require flexibility, including evenings, nights and weekends. Schedules and work locations may be subject to change. Performs routine custodial duties, including: cleaning restrooms; hard floor cleaning; carpet cleaning; washing/disinfecting surface areas; sets up, takes down and moves tables, chairs, and office furniture; inventories and orders supplies; etc. May work independently or under general supervision. Assignments may require the employee to be responsible for more than one facility. Applicants must have a valid Ohio Driver’s License and a good driving record.
Some institutional/facility housekeeping experience preferred; however, not required. Must be able to work well with staff and the general public and have good interpersonal skills. Must have good physical condition, with sufficient range of motion and strength to permit safe and efficient movement, lifting, grasping and use of moderately heavy equipment, materials, tools, furniture and other objects. High school graduate-level ability in math, English and reading is required to permit communication with the general public in facilities and to read hazard warnings, work orders, instructions and to follow directions in the use of housekeeping supplies and equipment.
The current pay range for this position is $19.60/hr. ($40,768/yr.) to $24.43/hr. ($50,814/yr.); excellent benefits. The entry rate is dependent upon qualifications and experience.
