General Statement of Duties
This position develops and maintains the geographic information systems (GIS) databases, layers, and linkages to various databases. Duties include reading and interpreting source documents, such as civil engineering plans, plot maps, and legal descriptions; and entering required data into the GIS. Work is performed under general supervision and requires independent judgment.
- GIS software, ESRI ArcMap/Pro, ArcGIS Server and ArcGIS Online;
- Microsoft Office Suite;
- Digitizing and data manipulation procedures for geographic information systems;
- Graphic Design;
- Database design.
Education and Experience
Currently attending school for Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in planning, geography, civil engineering, geographic information systems, or related field with significant emphasis on GIS and mapping applications, plus at least two years of experience in GIS; or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Up to $10.25/hour; entry rate dependent upon knowledge, skills and experience. Maximum of 15-20 hours per week.
