The City of Kettering, OH is recruiting to fill a full-time (40 hours/week) Finance Technician II position in the City’s municipal income Tax Division of its Finance Department. The Finance Technician II performs tasks in a fast-paced “teamwork” environment necessary to: income tax return processing; auditing; collections; daily batch entry; oral and written correspondence with taxpayers; assisting with delinquency programs; and other special projects and duties as assigned. This position reports to the Tax Manager.
The ideal applicant will have knowledge and experience in federal and local income tax rules, related research and procedures as well as in efficient office practices, and demonstrated ability in the use of Word and Excel. Must be detail-oriented, have good organizational skills and the ability to be accurate in work produced while working in a fast-paced environment. Must have excellent customer service, oral and written communication skills and the ability to work and communicate effectively with the general public and City staff. The candidate must be able to work independently and self-start assignments. Training and/or experience in municipal taxation and a degree in accounting or another related field is a plus.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
The pay range for this position is from $24.56 to $31.44 per hour ($51,085 – $65,395 per year), with the entry rate contingent upon experience, training and abilities; excellent benefits.
