The City of Kettering’s Award Winning Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts Department is recruiting to fill the Regular Part-Time position of Assistant Facility Coordinator-Rosewood. The Assistant Facility Coordinator assists in the professional administrative, programmatic, marketing and maintenance duties necessary to the operations of Rosewood Arts Centre. This position assists in the security of the facility, regular interaction with patrons, and front desk operations, as well as working closely with the Facility and Program Coordinators with duties associated with the physical building, equipment, scheduling, safety and program assistance.

This position is essential to Rosewood Arts Centre’s activities, including classes, drop-ins, rentals, special events and community outreach. Under the supervision of the Cultural Arts Administrator, the Assistant Facility Coordinator works closely with the public, artists, patrons, educators, and staff of Rosewood Arts Centre, and the Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts Department.  This is a key position in the Cultural Arts division; this position must be available for some evening and weekend program and event management.


Candidates must possess strong written, oral communications, and interpersonal skills to work with high level public and private sector officials. The ability to handle multiple, concurrent and high priority tasks is required; experience supporting a facility and working closely with artists and arts educators is essential; ability to cooperate and work effectively with fellow employees, community organizations and the public; ability to maintain records, make reports and present ideas and recommendations clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and Access, Adobe Photoshop and other visual editing programs and/or other relevant software is required.

A bachelor’s degree (BFA) in visual arts, art history, art education or other related field from a four year college or university and a minimum of four years experience in administrative staff or professional work desired. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted. Knowledgeable of the contemporary trends, practices and strategic approaches related to art and art education strongly preferred.


Regular Part-Time position with prorated leave benefits; 28 hours/week; pay range starts at $14.04/hour.
