ASSISTANT FACILITY COORDINATOR
(ICE ARENA)
(Temporary Part-Time)
General:
The Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts Department is recruiting to fill the position of Assistant Facility Coordinator for the Kettering Ice Arena. The Assistant Facility Coordinator is responsible for the operations and management of the Kettering Ice Arena in the absence of the Ice Arena Manager. The Assistant Facility Coordinator is also responsible for maintaining accurate records and reports (attendance, incident, service hours, monthly and daily maintenance logs); Security of all money and nightly deposits of the day’s money; assisting in the evaluation of Kettering Arena employees; Assists in the development and supervision of new programs and special events; Responsible for maintenance schedule for rental skates; Also responsible for maintenance of skates including sharpening skates; Attends all staff meetings as requested by supervisor; Operation of ice resurfacer; Assists in the development of the monthly newsletter and assists in covering shifts for the Operational Specialists as well as morning maintenance shifts. Shifts also include evenings and weekends.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate must have considerable knowledge in ice arena management. Knowledge of the methods, materials, tools and practices used in the operation, maintenance and supervision of the Kettering Arena is desirable. Must be certified, or have the ability to become certified, in Standard First Aid and CPR for Professional Rescuer; Must possess valid Ohio Driver’s License; Skating or hockey experience preferred. Ability to maintain records and to prepare reports; Ability to direct and supervise subordinates and to maintain a positive working relationship with them for the efficient operation of the Kettering Arena facility. Ability to exercise good judgment and function within the broad guidelines with a minimum of direction. Ability to assist in hiring and evaluating the work of subordinates. Ability to present ideas and recommendations in a clear and concise manner, both orally and in writing.
Compensation:
Pay range is $11.85/hr to $14.55/hr based on experience. This position is permitted to work up to 28 hours per week year-round.
