WATER WORKOUT INSTRUCTOR
(Contractual)

 

General:
The City of Kettering’s Award Winning Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts Department is recruiting to fill a contractual Water Workout Instructor position for the Kettering Recreation Complex. Position is responsible for preparing and instructing water exercise classes. This position will be scheduled to work approximately five (5) hours per week.

Examples of Duties:

The Water Workout Instructor will prepare water exercise classes for periods of one hour in length (maximum); class period should contain exercises for all parts of the body. The classes must include a stretching warm-up, a general warm-up, toning, aerobics and cool-down in each lesson and provide a positive and safe atmosphere for learning at all times. The Water Workout Instructor is expected to maintain a professional appearance, promote good public relations with participants and to read and stay informed on the latest exercise programs and trends by attending workshops, meetings and other exercise classes. The incumbent will maintain and submit all required paperwork for Kettering Recreation Complex classes and be responsible for being aware of and enforcing all City and City of Kettering, Parks Recreation and Cultural Arts guidelines.

Compensation:
Pay rate is contingent upon candidate’s related skills, knowledge, and abilities.

Qualifications:
Must have enthusiastic attitude and enjoy working with people of all ages in regards to physical fitness. Must have basic knowledge of body (muscles, bones, etc.). A sense of rhythm is highly desired. Previous experience as a water exercise or fitness instructor is preferred.
