Hilton Drive Improvements
November 11, 2019: The construction is now complete on Hilton Drive and the traffic control should be removed the week of November 11th.
October 17, 2019: Construction is entering the final phase. The contractor plans to complete the concrete work and final dirt restoration by the end of October. After this work is complete, they will place the final layer of asphalt on the street. This is expected to be completed during the first week of November.
September 26, 2019: The contractor will be completing the curb over the next several days. After the curb is complete, they will place the asphalt base followed by drive approaches and sidewalk work.
September 6, 2019: The contractor will complete the installation of the underground storm sewer the week of September 9th. After the storm sewer work is complete, they will begin excavation for the new road and curb. They will start at Stockton and work to the south.
August 16, 2019: The contractor is completing the water main work on Hilton Drive. Starting the week of August 5, they will begin working on the underground storm sewer.
July 18, 2019: A progress meeting is scheduled for July 22, 2019.
July 10, 2019: The contractor is approximately 50% complete with the water work on the project. They have started installing the storm sewer work on the project. Hilton Drive will remain closed.
May 31, 2019: Hilton Drive is closed at Crescent Blvd and Melrose Avenue, through traffic is not permitted within the project limits. The contractor has started work on replacing the water main and will continue through June. The contractor will also begin working on the storm sewer and roadway work in the next few weeks.
May 13, 2019: The contractor plans to set-up the road closure for the project May 13th and begin the water main replacement the week of the May 13th. Roadway work will begin in June.
April 1, 2019: A pre-construction meeting is scheduled for April 12th. Work is anticipated to start in May.
March 12, 2019: The project is anticipated to start in May. The construction work will require a detour for all through traffic. Only residents that live within the construction limits (Cardington Road to Patterson Boulevard) will be permitted to access Hilton Drive. Signs will be placed for the detour route. Please see attached DETOUR MAP. Work is expected to be complete in late fall, 2019. Access will remain open for the Hills and Dales MetroPark White Oak Camp entrance off of Glenbeck Avenue.
Bid Date: This project is scheduled to bid on February 28, 2019
The project includes infrastructure replacement of gas mains by Vectren, water main by Montgomery County Engineering and roadway work by the City of Kettering. Resurfacing of Hilton Drive from Cardington to Stockton. This includes the removal and replacement of the asphalt surface, as well as related items (pavement markings, traffic detection, etc). The project also includes the removal and replacement of deteriorated curbs and drive approaches.
