About Kettering’s Health Department
The Health Department, through Montgomery County, is responsible for inspection and complaint investigation of all licensed and permitted state and local health programs. In the City of Kettering this would include all restaurants, grocery stores, temporary food stands, pools and hotels as well as the jail and school environments.
In addition to licensed programs, the health department in the City of Kettering responds to complaints regarding trash, rats, mice, roaches, birds, mold, sewage, dog-created messes and mosquitoes. Beyond that, the department can also become involved in a variety of other situations directly or by assisting other agencies regarding fish kills, asbestos consultations, cancer studies, lead testing and water sampling.
