Dog Waste
During Rainfall, pet waste left to lawns, trails, and sidewalks washes into storm drains. These wastes and pathogens they contain (bacteria, parasites, and viruses) end up flowing directly into waterways where they can harm human health and the environment. Studies show dogs and cats to be major contributors of fecal contamination at local lakes and streams, but farm life (cows, pigs, and horses) can harm waterways near farm fields. Bring a bag, clean it up, and dispose of it properly.
