Bigger Road Resurfacing
October 10, 2018: Placing the final layer of asphalt began today, it will last approximately one week.
October 4, 2018: The final layer of paving will begin around October 13th and last through the end of the month.
September 27, 2018: Prep for the final layer asphalt is almost complete. Final paving will begin in October.
September 21, 2018: The first layer of asphalt was placed on outside lanes Thursday and Friday of this week. Prep for the final layer of paving will begin the week of September 24th. Manholes will need adjusted. Reflectors and lane lines will added after the final layer of asphalt is added.
September 17, 2018: The first layer of asphalt has been placed on the inside lanes. Milling will now move to the outside lanes.
September 11, 2018: Milling off the old pavement has begun; this phase will take two weeks to complete.
August 2, 2018: Traffic is restricted to one lane southbound as curb repair continues in the southbound, curb lane.
The concrete work on Bigger Road is anticipated to be complete by the middle of August. Once it is complete, the contractor will schedule the milling off of the old asphalt and placing new asphalt.
July 3, 2018: The contractor has begun saw cutting on Bigger Road. This phase will take approximately two weeks.
May 17, 2018: Work is scheduled to begin in July.
The project includes resurfacing of Bigger Road from David Road to the southern corporation limit with Centerville. This includes the removal and replacement of the asphalt surface, as well as related items (pavement markings, traffic detection, etc). The project also includes the removal and replacement of deteriorated curbs and drive approaches.
