Asphalt Overlay 2019
September 26, 2019: The contractor has completed all of the paving for the 2019 Asphalt program. There are several remaining punch list items left to complete.
September 6, 2019: The contractor is planning to be back in Kettering the week of September 16th to finish the asphalt program on the following streets: Glenbeck Ave., Waving Willow Dr., Lytle Ln., Robert Dickey Pike, Brooklands Rd, Gaylord Ave. The existing surface of the street will be milled off and then followed by a new asphalt surface.
August 6, 2019: The entry streets to the Kettering Business Park were paved on Saturday August 3, 2019.
July 29, 2019: The paving crew is complete with the first phase of the paving project. They will return at the end of summer to pave the following streets: Waving Willow Drive, Lytle Lane, Brooklands, Robert Dickey Parkway, Glenbeck Avenue, Gaylord Avenue and the entry streets into the Kettering Business Park (Forrer Boulevard).
May 1, 2019: The paving crew is working on Donson Drive.
April 24, 2019: Milling and paving of the first layer of asphalt is under way. Hewitt Avenue has been paved. The contractor anticipates moving to Donson Drive by the end of the week, weather permitting.
April 16, 2019: Milling is taking place on Forrer Blvd. as well as Donson Drive. The milling contractor will then move to Rahn Road beginning at Wilmington Pike heading to the west.
April 1, 2019: Work has started on the replacement of the curb ramps. The contractor is expecting to start the full depth repairs on Robert Dickey Parkway and Brooklands Road the week of May 13th. They are also planning to start the milling and overlay of the streets on May 13th. Click the link below for a list and map of street included in this year’s project.
March 22, 2019: Concrete work is expected to begin the week of March 25th.
March 12, 2019: The project is anticipated to start work in April on the replacement of concrete curb ramps to make them ADA accessible on the streets that will be paved. Once this work is complete, the contractor will schedule the paving process. The paving process is anticipated to continue through the summer.

Each year the City of Kettering evaluates the conditions of all the city streets to create the annual street maintenance program. After the streets are evaluated, they are then ranked according to the pavement condition and a list is created for the streets that may be paved this year.
This year’s Asphalt Overlay Program includes milling the existing asphalt and paving new asphalt on several residential streets.
