The City of Kettering's firefighting force includes 45 full-time firefighters, administrative personnel and paramedics. Full-time firefighters work during the day with backup from volunteers. After 5:00 pm and on weekends and holidays, volunteers take over providing the fire protection for the community as well as aiding paramedics on emergency runs. The City needs about 120 volunteers to be at full strength.

Requirements:
Complete firefighter recruit school paid for by the City of Kettering at Sinclair Community College (must be completed within 12 months of your appointment to the Kettering Fire Dept.)
Must meet the job's physical qualifications, including the ability to operate fire equipment
Must be able to work hard to maintain the department's high standards and be willing to attend additional training
