Spring Leaf Pick-Up has concluded.
Please check back for future updates.

Program Purpose:
Because there is a County Ordinance against Citizens
burning leaves and because
the volume is too much for
trash haulers to haul away,
the Kettering Street Department
is responsible for picking up leaves.
If leaves were left on the streets,
it could potentially cause drainage problems in our underground storm sewer system. The piles of leaves would also contribute to traffic accidents and parking problems,
if not picked up.

Leaf Pick-Up

Prior to collection, please rake your leaves as close to the curb
as possible . Please do not place the leaves in bags.
The scheduled program runs for a 10-week period
beginning mid-October through mid to late December.
The objective is to pick up leaves throughout the entire
City
five times. The entire city is typically covered within two
weeks before we begin the process again, starting at district 1.
*Factors such as weather and leaf quantity may affect
 pick up times.
During the program, the vacuumed leaves are taken
to Kettering Leaf Farm site.
Any leftover leaves may be taken to our Yard Debris Center.
(Leaves are accepted here March through December.)
The leaves are composted. In the spring/summer, the leaf
compost is made available to Kettering citizens for free.
For more information about our Composting Program,
Compost information sheet.
The City is divided into 11 DISTRICTS.
There are two ways to determine your district:
  - Leaf Pick Up District Locator
  - Leaf Pick Up District Map of City
The districts are picked up in numerical order , with leaf
crews working the district until it is complete before moving
to the next district.
On dead ends and cul-de-sacs, it is necessary for us to use
smaller trucks. Occasionally, these smaller trucks are ahead
or behind the rest of the crews.

District Information
Once you have located your district,
you can then determine when we
will be in your area.

You may also call our leaf pick up
line, which has a recorded message
updated daily throughout the Leaf
