The Recreation Division, part of the Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts Department, is responsible for thousands of programs every year as well as operating the Kettering Recreation Complex.

The premier recreation facility in the Miami Valley, the Kettering Recreation Complex brings under one roof the Charles I. Lathrem Senior Center, the Kettering Ice Arena, a lap pool and spa, a multipurpose gymnasium, a walk/run track, a nursery, aerobics and fitness centers, meeting rooms and more. On the south side, the Water Raves Water Park, a three-acre facility that's unequaled among municipalities in Ohio, as well as shuffleboard courts and horseshoe pits.

Two recent additions to the Recreation Division include the Rob Dyrdek/DC Shoe Foundation Skate Plaza and the Kettering Fitness and Wellness Center. The skate plaza, a first of its kind facility, has attracted worldwide attention and participation at the facility is growing. The Kettering Fitness and Wellness Center, located at Kettering Fairmont High School and opened November 1, 2005, boasts state of the art strength and cardiovascular equipment all for a very affordable price.
