The Records Section is staffed by three full-time Records Specialists that insure the integrity of the reporting process within the police department. The Records Specialists are trained in current applicable laws and guidelines regarding records management. The section facilitates a wide variety of tasks dealing with both internal and external customers and communication.
These tasks include
Compliance with Records Retention Schedule
Maintaining and filing of officer generated reports
Interaction with insurance agencies
Processing accident reports
Processing arrest reports
Liaison with City of Kettering officials
Processing affidavits for state and local documentation
Coordination with Municipal and State courts regarding legal process
Oversee Freedom of Information requests and processing

Hours of Operation and Contact Information The section is open daily from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and requests for service can be handled in a variety of ways:
Walk-in basis at the Kettering Police Department lobby at 3600 Shroyer Road, Kettering, Ohio 45429
Digital fingerprinting is available by appointment only, Tuesday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Digital FBI fingerprinting is $40 cash ($35 for residents and employees of the City of Kettering).
Digital BCI fingerprinting is $35 cash ($30 for residents and employees of the City of Kettering).
Ink fingerprinting is available the second and fourth Tuesday of the month between 6:00 and 8:00 p.m. on a walk-in basis Please bring your blank fingerprint card with you. There is no charge for inked fingerprinting.
