Bicycle Patrol

The Kettering Police Bike Patrol Unit consists of eight officers. These officers patrol on all three shifts and provide year-round coverage. You may see these officers on their bikes patrolling the streets of Kettering no matter what the weather brings. 

Riding a bicycle on patrol provides a stealth approach for apprehending criminals. A common statement made by those arrested is, "Where did you guys come from?"

The Bicycle Patrol Unit has proven to be a great asset to the KPD. The officers are able to ride through alleys and pathways without being detected. Officers are able to check businesses at night far more efficiently than by traditional foot patrol.
