Through the City of Kettering Community Development Block Grant Program, the City of Kettering purchases very deteriorated homes from willing sellers. Each home is evaluated to determine whether the home can be rehabilitated or whether it should be demolished. For the last 6 years, the City has been purchasing and demolishing homes in the Wiles Creek Neighborhood Revitalization Strategy Area.

After a request for proposal process, two of the City-owned lots were sold to Generations Construction to build two three-bedroom, two-bathroom single-family homes. The homes are presently under construction and are for sale.

To ensure a large pool of potential homebuyers, the City of Kettering has financial assistance available to income eligible homebuyers to purchase the homes.
