The City of Kettering provides several financial tools to assist homebuyers and homeowners to reach their housing goals within the City. If you are looking to purchase your first home, finance repairs needed for your home or reinvest in your home by remodeling or expanding your living space, the City has a variety of programs available.
Key programs available are:
Down Payment Assistance (DPA) Program
The 2009 regular Down Payment Assistance Program is closed for this budget year. All funds for the program have been used. Please check our web page in 2010 for information regarding the Down Payment Assistance Program in the new year.
Housing Rehabilitation Program
This program provides low-interest loans to income eligible homeowners to make needed repairs to their home. This program also provides deferred loans for qualified elderly and disabled. For more information about this program, please see our frequently asked questions (FAQs) section at the bottom of our Rehabbing A Home page.
Purchase Rehabilitation Program
This program is being funded for 2009 through the Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP) and will be limited to houses located in Census Tracts 210 and 213 only.
Home Enhancement Loan Program
This program, in partnership with DayAir Credit Union, provides a 2.5% discount to income eligible homeowners planning a major remodeling project or addition to their home.
In-fill Housing
This program provides new housing opportunities for homebuyers as a result of the City selling City-owned lots to housing developers to build new homes. To have the greatest number of eligible homebuyers, the City provides financial assistance to income eligible homebuyers to purchase the homes.
Historical Preservation and Proposed Federally Funded Projects
