Our Charles I. Lathrem Senior Center boasts the largest senior membership in the State. Members of the Lathrem Center can take part in dance classes, softball leagues, computer courses and travel – just to name a few. We have very active and very involved senior citizens in our City. Additionally, we staff a full time Senior Services Coordinator who links seniors with the programs they need.

Kettering is an inner ring suburb with a proactive approach to Economic Development. We are proud of the successful redevelopment projects in our recent history. By taking an initial risk of purchasing vacant and blighted buildings, we have been able to completely revitalize certain corridors of our community.

More than 1200 active volunteers help to make the City of Kettering run efficiently. Our volunteer program is modeled by communities all over the country and is a direct result of residents who value the community in which they live, work and raise their family. Our residents want to give back to their community – it’s a choice, not a requirement.
