Insurance - 2012 Open Enrollment
 
 

Employee Medical Care Insurance

Coverage provided by the City’s Group Medical Insurance Plan will be administered by United Health Care in 2012.  Letters were mailed on October 28 to eligible employees' homes providing 2012 information.   The open enrollment period runs from Monday, November 7 through Wednesday, November 23. 

Open enrollment packets will be distributed to departments no later than Friday, November 4th.   Copies of the materials in the enrollment packet are will be available online here: online forms. 

The plan does not change the structure from last years insurance.  The City continues to uses a High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP), which incorporates the use of an individual Health Savings Account (HSA).  Full-time employees, who elect coverage, will jointly participate in the cost of the HDHP and are required to pay 17% of the monthly premium.  The plan details will be discussed during a open enrollment meetings and during new employees orientation.

While the plan does not change structure, there some changes to the insurance program.  In order to help facilitate the enrollment with United Health Care and to address any other concerns you may have regarding your benefits, several meeting times are available in hopes that we can accommodate different employee schedules. All spouses are invited to attend any of the meetings with or without the employee.

All meetings will be held in the Virginia Conference Room of the North Building, located at 3600 Shroyer Road (*except the meeting held on 11/10 at 8:00 a.m. at the Street Dept. Lunch Room).
