About the Facilities Department
The Facilities Department is responsible for the construction, maintenance, repair, improvements and custodial care of all City owned buildings and shelters. Services also include preventative maintenance, energy conservation, retrofits, seasonal changeover, and general manpower services.

The Facilities Department is also responsible for selling surplus items, equipment, machinery, etc, as well
as confiscated items. The City of Kettering utilizes GovDeals on-line auction to sell these items.

The auction website gives a complete description of each item or lot
as well as a photo gallery. Most items offered for sale are used and may contain defects not immediately detectable. Bidders may inspect the property prior to bidding. Bidders must adhere to the inspection dates
and times indicated in the item description. Successful bidders will
receive a Buyer’s Certificate by email from GovDeals. Complete online
sales terms and conditions are also outlined on the web site.
