Project Description:
The project will involve the repairs of the concrete medians and curbs followed by milling and replacing the asphalt. The traffic signal at Sacramento will also be rebuilt and some modifications will be made to the existing lighting.

Project Limit:
Starting at Smithville and going to the North Corporation Limit
Project Description:
The project involves a mill and overlay of Wilmington Pike along with repairing any bad concrete joints in the road base and replacing any concrete curb, drive approaches or sidewalk that needs repaired. The project is being funded by ARRA Federal Stimulus Money.

Wilmington Pike Resurfacing South- Stroop Road to S. Corp Limit
Project Limit:
Starting at Stroop and going to the South Corporation Limit
Project Description:
The project involves a mill and overlay of Wilmington Pike along with repairing any bad concrete joints in the road base and replacing any concrete curb, drive approaches or sidewalk that needs repaired.

Status Update:
The contractor has completed the replacemnt of the curbs, drive approaches and sidewalk along the project in need of replacement. The roadway work will begin at the end of August by repairing bad concrete joints in the roadway base. Once the concrete base is repaired, the road will be repaved. It is anticipated the paving will not take place until late September. Traffic will be reduced during the construction, delays are possible.

Project Description:
The project includes the removal and replacement of existing concrete curb along both sides of the street, spot repair of the sidewalk and drive approaches on both sides and new asphalt on the street.

West Stroop Road - Overland to Far Hills
Project Limit:
West Stroop Road from Overland to Far Hills.
Project Description:
The proposed improvements include providing street lighting for the entire length. The proposed lights between Overland Trail and Southmoor Circle will be placed on the south side of Stroop Road. Between Southmoor Circle and Far Hills Ave the project will also include providing sidewalks with decorative pavement and pedestrian lighting on short 10’ –12’ poles on both sides of the street.

Dorothy Lane and Wilmington Pike Intersection Reconstruction
Project Limit:
Along East Dorothy Lane, the project extends from Haig Ave. to Hobart St., a distance of approximately 1,400 feet. Along Wilmington Pike, the project extends from Beaverton Drive to Jaybee Court, a distance of approximately 1,300 feet.
Project Description:
This project will involve the reconstruction of the intersection of East Dorothy Lane and Wilmington Pike, including traffic capacity improvements; new pavement, curb, and sidewalks, storm sewers, and street lighting; and replacement of existing traffic signals at Dorothy Lane & Wilmington Pike intersection and the Wilmington Pike & Jaybee Court intersection. A loop road will be constructed on the northwest quadrant of the Dorothy Lane & Wilmington Pike intersection.
This project is being funded by a Federal Congestion Mitigation / Air Quality grant, and by American Recovery and Reinvestment Act Federal Economic Stimulus funds, both of which were provided through the Miami Valley Regional Planning Commission. This project is also being funded by a State grant through the Ohio Public Works Commission.

Status Update:
Work is nearly complete on the new 12" water main along Wilmington Pike. Installation of the main is complete, and all the water work will be complete by the end of August. Work will be underway on the new storm sewer at the north end of the project on Wilmington Pike (near Beavertown Elementary School) within the next several weeks.
Construction work on Haig Avenue and Betz Crossing is ongoing. The contractor is working on the embankment for the new roadway and installing the new storm sewer. This new roadway is scheduled to be complete by the end of the year. Haig Avenue remains closed to through traffic while construction is ongoing.
Traffic is being maintained along Wilmington Pike and Dorothy Lane, though motorists should expect additional lane closures and restrictions throughout the duration of the project, as well as potential traffic delays. Motorists are advised to seek alternate routes to bypass the construction area. If you must travel through the construction area, please slow down and be aware of construction equipment and workers in and near the construction area.

2010 Asphalt Overlay Project
Project Location:
This year’s Asphalt Overlay Program includes milling the existing asphalt and placing new asphalt on several residential streets.
Project Description:
Each year the City of Kettering evaluates the roadways to create the annual street maintenance program. After the streets are evaluated, they are then ranked according to the pavement condition and a list is created for the streets that may be paved this year. Kettering Multi-Use Bike Path
Project Limit:
Full length of Hempstead Station and Stroop Road from Hempstead Station to southwest corner of Wilmington Pike & Stroop Rd intersection
Project Description:
On Hempstead Station south of David Road the work will be installation of information street signs. The work on Hempstead Station north of David Road and on Stroop Rd the work will include installation of an 8’-10’ wide concrete multipurpose path.

Dorothy Lane Bridge Replacement
Project Limit:
Bridge crossing the South Branch of the Little Beavercreek between Galewood and Purdue
Project Description:
The project involves the removal and replacement of the existing bridge with a wider, single span prestressed concrete composite box beam structure with reinforced concrete wall abutements

Status Update:
The first phase of the project has been completed and the traffic has been shifted to the new bridge. Work has started on Phase 2 and completed the removal of the existing bridge and started the replacement of the north side of the bridge. Traffic will be maintained to three lanes of traffic on the south side of the bridge. Although traffic will be maintained on Dorothy Lane, several side streets (Galewood Street, Purdue Road and Sudbury Drive) will be closed at the intersection of Dorothy Lane during the project. Woodman & Patterson/Research Intersection Improvement
Project Limit:
The project limits include the intersection of Woodman Drive and Patterson Rd/Research Blvd—extending on Woodman Drive from Rainbow Drive on the south to 800 feet north of Patterson Road and extending on Patterson Road to Bauer Street and on Research Blvd to 200 feet east of Rainbow Drive.
Project Description:
This project will improve the alignment of Woodman Drive and add left and right turn lanes in all directions. In addition the traffic signal will be rebuilt. This project is mostly funded with Federal and State funds.
