KETTERING ARTS COUNCIL
Purpose: To promote and assist in the development, awareness and appreciation of arts in Kettering.  The Kettering Arts Council programs and operates the Kettering Arts Council Gallery at Rosewood Arts Centre.

BOARD OF COMMUNITY RELATIONS
Purpose: To improve intergroup relations and promote fair housing regardless of race, religious creed, color, sex, disability, national origin, ancestry, marital status or familial status.

BOARD OF PERSONNEL APPEALS
Purpose: To hear appeals and render non-binding decisions on terminations of Unclassified Civil Service employees.

BOARD OF PLUMBERS’ REGISTRY
Purpose: To Examine and license all journeymen plumbers and plumbing contractors performing work in the city.

BOARD OF TAX APPEALS
Purpose: To hear appeals filed by taxpayers in order to affirm, reverse or modify any assessment, ruling or decision made by the Tax Manager. In deciding to affirm, reverse or modify, the board shall determine the facts and shall apply the law according to the Tax Code but shall not have the authority to vary, waive or refuse to apply any provision of the Tax Code.

BOARD OF ZONING APPEALS
Purpose: Defined by the City Charter, the Board of Zoning Appeals interprets the provisions of the zoning code and has the power to vary the literal application of the Zoning Code requirements.
Meetings: Second and fourth Mondays at 7 p.m.

CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION
Purpose: To formulates rules for adoption by City Council and promotion of city and school board employees in the Classified Civil Service and to hear appeals of Classified Civil Service employees on issues of suspension, demotion, termination and layoff.

BICYCLE ADVISORY TASK FORCE
Purpose: To make recommendations to City Council regarding potential bike-oriented programs and facilities to consider as part of future City initiatives.

PARTNERS FOR HEALTHY YOUTH ADVISORY BOARD
Purpose: To promote, develop and maintain programs targeted to the youth in Kettering.

PARKS AND RECREATION BOARD
Purpose: To promote a comprehensive parks, recreation and cultural arts program, and to provide complete recreation areas and facilities for Kettering residents.
Meetings: First Thursday in February, April, June, August, October and December, 4 p.m.

PLANNING COMMISSION
Purpose: Defined by the City Charter, the Planning Commission guides development in the city by approving plans in accordance with the provisions of the zoning code, and serves as the city’s platting authority.

Purpose: To provide residents an opportunity to appeal a violation notice that has been issued in connection with enforcement of the city’s property maintenance code.

SISTER CITY COMMITTEE
Purpose: To provide an organization of citizens interested in fostering a people-to-people relationship between residents of Kettering, Ohio, and those of one or more cities in foreign countries throughout the world.
