Saturday, October 24 – Cities of Service Kick-Off and Make a Difference Day
For over 25 years the City of Kettering has been participating in National Make A Difference Day. The Cities of Service Initiative allows us to take this single day of service and develop an ongoing initiative using service as a strategy to tackle our most pressing need – neighborhood revitalization, sustainability and neighborhood pride. On October 24, individual volunteers as well as volunteers from service clubs, faith-based organizations and schools will join together to help residents in the Berwin Park Neighborhood (boundaries of Marshall Rd., Wilmington Pike and Stroop Rd) with yard debris removal, leaf raking, trimming of bushes and small trees, and other various outdoor tasks. If you and/or your organization are interested in helping on Make A Difference Day, please contact the Volunteer Office at 296-2433.

Neighborhood Garage Sale/Clean up/Bulk-Pick-Up
The City will help advertise a neighborhood Garage Sale for Berwin Park neighbors to kick-off their spring cleaning by selling unwanted items for some extra cash. The neighborhood garage sale will take place Thursday, May 12 through Friday, May 13. To include your residence, neighbors are asked to contact the Volunteer Office at 296-2433 by May 6.
Volunteers will then assist in a second clean up day in this neighborhood on Saturday, May 14. Waste Management will also be available the following week to remove any bulk trash items residents would like to dispose of. Residents in need of help with yard maintenance should contact the Volunteer Office at 296-2433. Volunteers that would like to help with the cleanup should contact the Volunteer Office as well. This is a great opportunity for individuals, faith-based organizations, school groups, service clubs and scout groups to get involved with community service!
