The Access Kettering tool is now available and offers online access 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. No more waiting for our offices to open to do business with the City. You can now apply and pay for a residential or commercial permit, and report a property maintenance concern in your neighborhood – all online at your convenience.

The Zoning Administrator is responsible for ensuring new development is built and existing development stays in conformance with the Kettering Zoning Code. The Zoning Administrator is also responsible for providing staff support to the Kettering Planning Commission and Board of Zoning Appeals.
Planning Staff is responsible for creating and implementing mid and long range planning studies for the City of Kettering.

The building safety staff is responsible for permitting and the enforcement of all building codes during construction.
Property Maintenance Code Enforcement
Keeping property maintained is essential to the long-term health and value of Kettering neighborhoods and businesses. Our Property Maintenance Inspectors work with home and business owners to ensure our neighborhoods maintain their value. You can file a complaint on Access Kettering.
The Community Development staff administers programs to assist Kettering families with home improvements and improving neighborhoods. These programs are primarily funded through the Community Development Block Grant program. You can find more information about these programs on our “Housing Opportunities” page.
