Rosewood Arts Centre presents a unique opportunity for the community to experience hands-on activities in visual and performing arts programs. Rosewood is recognized throughout the state of Ohio as an outstanding centre through excellence of management and programming. Committed to arts in education for ages ranging from preschool to senior adults, Rosewood Arts Centre conducts more than 400 classes annually in dance, theatre, creative writing, music, visual arts and fine crafts. In recognizing the creativity of cultural diversity, the centre offers courses in art appreciation, languages and the humanities. A great way to spend the summer with friends or meet new ones! Rosewood offers a variety of summer camp art classes for kids ages 5 – 14.
Rosewood Gallery was established in 1986 in the Rosewood Arts Centre. The gallery specializes in the exhibition of contemporary art by local, regional and national artists. It is dedicated to the encouragement and creation of new works and to the promotion of visual arts in the Dayton, Ohio area. Studio space for the community is available at Rosewood Arts Centre for drop-in use. Fully-equipped visual arts studios of pottery, darkroom development, stained and formed glass, sculpture and painting are provided. A beautiful sprung floor dance studio is also available for drop-in use. In addition to the community use studios, individual spaces for private artistic production and development are available.
The Kettering Arts Council, Kettering Children’s Choir, Richens Academy of Irish Dance and many other artistic and cultural organizations utilize the facility on a regular basis. Local artist groups and community organizations call the centre home.
