The project is anticipated to have a bid opening on February 16, 2017. Construction is expected to begin in late spring of 2017 and be completed in the fall of 2017.
Beginning at Shroyer Road and Stoop Road in Kettering going to the north to the Oakwood/Dayton Corporation Line.
The City of Kettering and the City of Oakwood are partnering to make improvements to Shroyer Road. The project has joint funding between Oakwood and Kettering, along with Federal Funding awarded by Miami Valley Regional Planning Commission, and is managed by Ohio Department of Transportation.
The project will involve the asphalt resurfacing of Shroyer Road from East Stroop Road to Gainsborough Road, at the Oakwood north corporation line. The project will also include reducing Shroyer Road from four lanes to three in the Oakwood section. The three lane section will include single through lanes in each direction, exclusive left turn lanes at intersections, a bike lane on both sides of the street between the roadway and the adjacent curb, raised center medians with grass, two enhanced mid-block pedestrian crosswalks, and improvements to the existing pedestrian/bicycle crossing at the Dayton Corporation Line.
