What is the City Charter?
The City Charter was originally adopted during a Special Election held on January 25, 1955, and became effective January 1, 1956. The Charter is a roadmap for City governance. Every 10 years a committee of Kettering citizens reviews the Charter for amendment. Recommended amendments are then placed on the ballot for vote by the electorate.
